TRADING UPDATE
The Directors of Intelek plc (AIM: ITK) are pleased to issue the following trading update for the six months ended 30 September 2008.
The Group’s strong performance in the year to 31 March 2008 has continued into the current financial year, with further growth in sales and order intake.
Major highlights of the period were:
· Paradise Datacom, our satellite amplifier and modem business, continued its global expansion, opening offices in South-East Asia and China, establishing new sales and field support capability in India and recruiting additional engineering talent in the USA. New products were launched including the link-up with Viasat, a major
· Labtech Microwave, our microwave components business, has continued to win orders on phased array radar systems and has been selected by Paradise Datacom to develop and produce a new line of Ka-band Low Noise Amplifiers, a new area of opportunity as satellite customers look for alternatives to the congested standard frequencies.
· CML, our aerostructures company, recorded order intake significantly above the previous half year, supporting expectation of continuing growth in the second half. This will keep CML’s precision machining business at close to full capacity. In parallel, we are developing our composites business, having taken £0.5 million in orders to date for the early stages of the Joint Strike Fighter programme.
Full interim results will be released on Tuesday, 25 November 2008.
