15 Apr 2008 - Opening of new facility in South East Asia

Intelek plc (AIM: ITK), whose activities include the design and manufacture of electronic systems and components for the satellite, wireless communications and defence sectors, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Paradise Datacom, has opened a regional office in Bangkok, Thailand.

This office will focus on sales opportunities in the region as well as pre and post-sales technical support. The staff have many years of experience in satellite communications with significant success in the region.

Paradise Datacom, with manufacturing plants in the UK and US, is a leading supplier of satcom equipment solutions and offers a comprehensive array of ground equipment, including satellite modems, solid state power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, block-up converters and transceivers.

Ian Brodie, Chief Executive, Intelek, commented:

"It is very encouraging that the market demand for Paradise Datacom products has necessitated the opening of a new office in Bangkok covering the South East Asia region. This moves Paradise Datacom on to the next stage of its development plan for South East Asia, a region in which we have enjoyed considerable success over the last two years but also one which has exciting growth potential for the future".
